Oregon Trails

This past weekend, we were in Oregon, enjoying the sunshine and seeing friends. It was great to reconnect!

When we were getting off the airplane in Portland, Douglas saw the lit Exit sign on the jetway and offered to read it to me. "It says 'Do Not Die'," he said.

When we were in the terminal, he said "Mommy, this is OUR airport. We are in Oregon! I am so 'sighted."

Speaking of Douglas, the other night at dinner he announced that he wanted to be an astronaut. He said that after he went to "astronaut school" he'd go up in a rocket. I asked if we could watch his lift off, like the videos we saw on the computer. He replied matter-of-factly, "Well, actually, I was thinking that the whole family could go. You know, when we go to space for Mommy's work." This year, California. Next year, outer space! Glad to know the family is so flexible.

To all of those we saw this weekend (like the Stump boys in the picture), it was great to see you and we hope you come to see us while we are down here on our adventure. It will be much easier to visit us here than it will be to visit us on the Moon!
