Trip to the Oakland Zoo

I came home from a business trip on Sunday and decided on the spur of the moment to take Monday off (call it a "personal health day"). We took a field trip to the Oakland Zoo. It was a beautiful shirt-sleeve day and we got to see all sorts of interesting animals.

The kids got to brush a goat, see giraffes, a bear, and all sorts of birds and monkeys.

Douglas had packed his own backpack (a Buzz Lightyear plush one that was a gift a few years back from his Aunt Rebecca) with snacks. By the time we left, the kids were pretty worn out!
