Birthday Concert

I was reminded last night how fantastic Portland is. We went to an outdoor concert of the Portland Festival Orchestra and pianist/composer, Michael Allen Harrison, at the Washington Park amphitheater. This venue is surrounded by fragrant test rose gardens (with hundreds of varieties in bloom) and striking views of downtown. A whole crew joined to celebrate my birthday in northwest style. Thanks to Mom for keeping up with current events and to everyone who joined in the celebration (including several hundred strangers who attended the concert not knowing it was my birthday).
